Technology

We have been going to Moerewa for Technology.  It’s when we learnt to cook and build. The year eights do cooking and the year sevens do building. When we first started we wrote the rules and about what I learnt. I made a hook. The machine that I used to make it was called a skill saw. It’s very hard to use because you have to move  the wood into the saw. When it goes into the skill saw it gets cut. It was hard to use because when I tried to turn the wood I had to push it forward slowly. We are now learning how to make a metal necklace.

Turbo touch

In Te Ngahere we have been playing a game called turbo touch. The rules in turbo touch are at the bottom of my doc. Turbo touch is a fast and easy game. The thing that was hard for me was to try passing the ball to someone when everyone is calling your name for the ball. It would have been easier if we had more room to play.

Tuituhi

In Te Ngahere we have been doing writing. I learnt what timeless present tense, action verbs, cause and effect words, rhetorical questions, objective / reasoned tone, passive voice, and nominalisation are. I am blogging about this so I could get your feedback so I can fix what I need to.  Here is my writing . My class and I have been writing about the Paihia School pump track. We have written why it’s important to our community.

Swim Safe

In Te Ngahere a lady named Tracy came to our school to teach us about water safety. She told us the five rules to keep safe on the ocean, Rule one always wear a life jacket when your on boat. Rule two tell someone where you're going and what time you will be back so they know that you're safe. Rule three check the weather so you know the sea is safe. Rule four put your safety first that means if someone is in trouble don't just and save them so you don't get heart. The last rule is have a emergency beacon radio and a play a flare. What I learnt from Tracy was your life is worth everything.
