Te Reo Forecast

In Te Ngahere we have been learning to pronounce different weather words in Maori. Then, when we finish learning them in maori, we had to make a script so we could screencastify. My partner was Mark O. In our script we had to have six different places in NZ and then we had to pick what type of weather it would be in those six places. When we finished we screencastified. The thing that I found hard was to try and pronounce the words in Maori because it was hard to shape our lips witch affects pronunciation.

Have you ever made a weather forecast before in Maori?

Fun facts about T-ball

In Te Ngahere we have been playing T-ball we have been practicing with KC. T-ball is a really fun game, it’s exactly like baseball except the ball is hit off a T and there is no one pitching the ball to you. The object of the game is to hit the ball and run through base 1, base 2 and base 3. In my opinion the two best places for me are batter and base 2. After you hit the ball, then you need to drop the bat and run to base 1. Then, when the next batter hits the ball you need to run to base 2. Then, the person that hit the ball has to go to base 1 and then the game continues from there. The thing that I found hard was to hit the ball out to the fielders.

Mahi toi

In Te Ngahere we have been making art the art is called Mahi toi but the art is for our parents so they can buy calendars of our art. We had to start on practice sheet before we went on a real copy. The only thing that I found hard about mahi toi was that I could barely see the patterns. Before we went to our good piece of paper we had to practice how to blend and to draw a good circle. The thing that I found hard was to try and look for the lines to draw over.

The Amazing World Of Cricket

 Kia ora bloggers

In Te Ngahere we have been practicing Cricket. The person that came in to teach us about cricket was a guy called Neil. Cricket is a really fun game to play there are four different positions there is the backstop, batter, fielders and a bowler. Before we started playing a proper game of speed cricket we had to practice so we had to get into a group of two and then we would go to a bat and then we put the ball on a tee and then hit the ball off the tee with the bat. What I found hard was to catch the ball.

For athletics there are five different activities, high jump, discus, long jump, shot put, sprints and relay races. In my opinion my favourite activity is high jump. There are five different groups. I’m in group four this year, I started with shot put what  I found hard with shot put was to try and throw such a heavy object.

The Sleepover

During my two week break of school I went to my friend’s house for a sleepover his name is Mikaire. We had heaps of fun we played in his tree house, we played dodgeball, video games and  gang up. When we play dodgeball we play it on a trampoline there are two people on the trampoline and two people have to throw the ball at each other. Then the people on the trampoline need to dodge the balls. When we finished playing outside we went inside to watch movies. Later we played games like fortnite and ARK survival.

The Art Of Art's

In Te Ngahere we have been making calendar art. We have to blend the colors together to make it look nice, and after we finished coloring we had to draw over it with a marker pen. Before we started on our real copy we had to practice on a practise paper. The only thing I found hard about it was that I could barely see the lines that we had to draw over.

Gotta Go Fast

In Te Ngahere we have been practising for cross country. We are going to be racing other kids that are the same age. This year I don’t care what place I come, I just want to participate. For cross country every year there is  sausages, juicies, nachos and baking from the adults, the food is very delicious. The older you are, the harder the courses are, the only thing that I find hard about the 11 year old’s course is that we have to run up a big hill and then run back down.

Fantastical Music Lab

In Te Ngahere we have been making music, We started making music this week on Thursday. It is a very fun site to make music on here is a link to music lab. The teacher wanted us to start making rhythms first  so we could get the hang of it before we make a song. Out of all the instruments I liked the little monster with red sticks and the other monster with red and yellow drums. I learned how to make a rhythm. To make a rhythm you have to click the dots and push the play button then it will come up with the music that you've made like my one.

Amazing Te Reo Ma

In Te Ngahere we have been learning to pronounce maori words and sentences. The teacher would give half the class a set of cards with maori words and pictures of weather on it but the other half of the class went to PE. Before we got cards from the teacher we got into groups of three or two then when we got the cards off the teacher we played ika ika that means fishy fishy. The only thing I found hard about it was to pronounce the words. When the other half of the class finished doing PE we went out.

Have you learnt more than ten maori words?

Wonder Project

Kia ora bloggers in Te Ngahere we have been working with the Wonder Project team. They came to teach us about rockets and what the key things were to keep everyone safe at all times. We also had to fill out safety forms and we wrote who the safety adviser would be the planner and other jobs to do to keep people safe. I learned that whenever you are constructing something you have to be mindful of others and what I found hard to fill out the forms. We also had do make a DLO about everything we were learning. Have you met the Wonder Project team?

What Do You Know About Cross Country?

Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have been practising for cross country. We have to run continuously for fifteen minutes. Before we start running, we had to do some stretches. After we are done stretching, our teacher begins playing music for us. When we are running we start from one post and run to the other post. Then, we run around the playground and back to the post. We do it again and again until the time is over. I have learnt that the more you run the more you get used to running. Have you been practicing for Cross Country?

Technology

We have been going to Moerewa for Technology.  It’s when we learnt to cook and build. The year eights do cooking and the year sevens do building. When we first started we wrote the rules and about what I learnt. I made a hook. The machine that I used to make it was called a skill saw. It’s very hard to use because you have to move  the wood into the saw. When it goes into the skill saw it gets cut. It was hard to use because when I tried to turn the wood I had to push it forward slowly. We are now learning how to make a metal necklace.

Turbo touch

In Te Ngahere we have been playing a game called turbo touch. The rules in turbo touch are at the bottom of my doc. Turbo touch is a fast and easy game. The thing that was hard for me was to try passing the ball to someone when everyone is calling your name for the ball. It would have been easier if we had more room to play.
